As I have grown interested in natural language processing (NLP), I have found multiple tutorials about NLP by Google and AWS, which have really demonstrated the applications of NLP in real-world scenarios with text classification and voice recognition software! I think these are really informative examples of the work that I can perform in NLP! This relates to my understanding through the research papers I have evaluated this year in my research assessments to get a good understanding of NLP. I have also found the resources from my research interviews with business professionals to be very helpful.

With my experience in machine learning from last year, I have been able to grasp NLP concepts much more easily in ISM 2 than when I started in ISM 1. I feel that I am able to understand the basics of NLP, such as word embeddings, tokenization, data cleaning, normalization, stemming, vectorization, etc. I think this is an excellent start with the combination of last year's and this year's knowledge to start my original work effectively in the next two weeks! I am also on my journey for mentor selection as I continue to meet more business professionals and academic professors in the coming weeks.

So see you next week, same place, same time.
