The last two weeks were a great point for me to finish my college applications and earn some rest after the busy first semester! After our winter break, I am refreshed and rejuvenated to start working on machine learning research in ISM this new year! I have already started contacting professionals and initiated some interview requests to obtain professional insight onto my next steps in pursuing natural language processing after my Original Work last semester.

I also believe that my Original Work has greatly increased my knowledge and skillset in natural language processing by helping me understand transformers and their various components, recurrent neural networks, and real-world machine learning applications. I hope to find a mentor later this month, and I want to start brainstorming ideas for my Final Product. I want to create a usable product that can be used for solving community-wide problems through the use of machine learning to understand language. However, before then, I want to get my materials for the annual ISM research showcase ready! This week, I plan to finish my Display Board and set up my Original Work presentation to demonstrate my new skills and understanding of natural language processing!

So see you next time, same place, same time!
