As an Independent Study & Mentorship Program II Student this year, I am excited to continue my journey in the same field of machine learning as last year in order to learn more about advanced topics in deep learning about computer vision as well as natural language processing and explore the subfield of reinforcement learning. These fields really interest me as they will help me learn the inner workings of machine learning and deepen my knowledge while giving me the ability to create my own product that can help solve a problem that we face in our society like my goal last year!
Furthermore, my plans for this upcoming week are to start my process in research to determine the subfield in machine learning that I am most interested in and reacquaint myself with the concepts of machine learning from last year! After coming back from a great last year of learning about computer vision through the help of my mentor in ISM 1 as well as exploring certain parts of OpenCV during the summer, I am excited to learn more about computer vision the most, specifically the GANS (Generative adversarial networks) algorithm that uses a unique technique in order to perform better analysis on visuals than convolutional neural networks (CNNs).
As I start my second year in ISM, I want to continue my process of refining and improving my presentation skills, professional networks, and professionalism. I also want to use this opportunity to enjoy this last year in high school with my passion for machine learning!
So see you next week. Same place. Same time.
