Who knew it will be this hard to decide...

As an Independent Study & Mentorship Program II Student this year, I have been researching this past weekend on the topic of machine learning as last year in order about advanced topics in deep learning about computer vision such as Generative adversarial networks and natural language processing such as Transformer machine learning models. This will help me understand if I am still driven to pursue the topics that I explored last year, or if I should try exploring a new subfield of reinforcement learning. Both of those options seem very viable to me as of right now primarily because of the advancements and interesting technology that both fields possess. They both also have the ability to create impactful solutions for the community using machine learning technology! This has made it a tough decision on my end to pick a certain topic for my research going forward this year.
Hence, my plans for this upcoming week are to continue researching the underlying theory behind Transformers and Generative adversarial networks to determine my interest as well as check out the topics on their difficulty, required expertise, and logic that makes them solutions to real-world problems. This will help me get a better idea if I want to continue my pursuit in deep learning like last year or try working with agents that can enhance their ability to predict over time in reinforcement learning!
So see you next week. Same place. Same time.
