Yay! I found my mentor!

I have very pleased to announce that Data Scientist Dr. Dwayne Paschall from IDEXX Laboratories will be my mentor for the second semester of ISM 2! It's a great opportunity for me to utilize in order to build an audio and visual network (multi-modal) to effectively use both speech and lip movements in synchronization which can help improve speech recognition in environments with background noise. He has already provided many useful resources for me to understand various approaches, mathematic theory, and the implementation process to combat the challenges of speech recognition and put the idea into reality!

Last week was also a Snow day week which provided a great amount of time for me to rest and enjoy time out of school activities! I talked to friends, and family and had a great time! Now, I can get back into my game this week to start my ISM 2 Final Product! This month will definitely involve a few mentor visits as I use Dr. Paschall's expertise and experience to implement my Final Product. Also, I hope to use the networking opportunities in the incoming March with the annual ISM showcase! I hope to improve my presentation skills and demonstrate a deep understanding of machine learning through this journey.
